Escape the concrete jungle of Abu Dhabi with a refreshing tour to the thriving oasis of Al Ain. The well-manicured lush green gardens, serene parks and spacious boulevards of Al Ain have earned itself a nickname as the Garden City. Located about 120 kilometers from Dubai, the tour includes air-conditioned travel, crossing the ever-changing desert scenery into the cradle of the Hajar Mountains on the Omani border.
This full-day tour kicks off from a centrally located Dubai hotel with an expert guide in tow. After around 1.5 hours, step back in time at the Hili Archaeological Park, famous for Bronze Age archaeological excavations. Admire the relics of settlements dating to 2500-400 B.C., and a tomb from the third millennium B.C, whose walls are lithographed with carvings. Carry on to Al Ain National Museum, a rich depository of culturally and historically symbolic exhibits. Then, visit Al Jahili Fort, one of the UAE’s most historic buildings built-in 1891. Explore this beautiful, embattled fort that houses the largest museum with exciting exhibits including a rare collection of ruling family’s portraits and find out its historic role of guarding Al Ain’s oasis.

Next, learn more about the falaj (irrigation channels) system that blends around the palm trees during a stop at the Al Ain Oasis.

After a stop for lunch (own expense), proceed to the renovated Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum, the former residence of the UAE’s late founder, His Highness Sheikh Zayed. Then, cool your feet at the hot springs at the foot of Jebel Hafeet, the nation’s tallest mountain and finish with a visit to the traditional camel market.
