Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2026: Your Race-Week Planning Guide to Yas Marina Circuit

The F1 season finale returns to Yas Marina Circuit from 3 to 6 December. Here is how to choose a grandstand, get to Yas Island, find a bed and fit four nights of concerts around the racing.
The dates at a glance
The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2026 runs from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 December and closes the season at Yas Marina Circuit. Thursday is "Super Thursday", with the Fanzone, a pit lane walk and a concert but no cars on track. Practice, qualifying and the race take place from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 December. Official four-day tickets cover Thursday to Sunday. Session times are listed on abudhabigp.com.
F1 cancelled the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix this year, which cut the calendar to 22 races. The Abu Dhabi finale is confirmed to go ahead. Even so, check abudhabigp.com and formula1.com for official updates before you travel.
Choosing a grandstand
The prices below are official four-day prices. Check the official site for current availability.
- Main Grandstand overlooks the start/finish line, pit lane and podium. Sold out.
- North Grandstand (from AED 2,595) faces the Turn 5 hairpin, with heavy braking, wheel-to-wheel racing and a short walk to the concerts. Listed as currently unavailable.
- North Straight Grandstand (from AED 2,400) looks along the longest straight as cars accelerate out of Turn 5. The North Straight Club (AED 3,900) adds an air-conditioned lounge with an à la carte cash bar, but it is currently unavailable.
- West Grandstand sits on the long straight, where cars pass at more than 300km/h before overtaking into Turns 6 and 7. Sold out on the official site.
- South Grandstand (from AED 2,495) gives sweeping views of Turn 9, Marsa Corner. The South Club (AED 3,095) adds an air-conditioned club, à la carte food and drink, and live TV, but it is sold out on the official site.
- Marina Grandstand (from AED 2,395) looks across to the superyachts and the lit-up W Abu Dhabi.
- Abu Dhabi Hill is general admission on a grassy slope overlooking Turns 2 to 6 and the back straight, with big screens and a picnic feel. Four-day passes are sold out, so check for single-day tickets.
- North Yas Suite is a hospitality option. Check abudhabigp.com for current prices.
Every race ticket includes general admission to the after-race concerts at Etihad Live, on a first-come, first-served basis. It also includes one free day at a Yas Island theme park or teamLab Phenomena, plus access to the Fanzone and Oasis areas. Buy only through official channels: abudhabigp.com, tickets.formula1.com or Ticketmaster.ae.
Getting to Yas Island
The circuit confirms its 2026 shuttle and parking plans closer to race week. Check yasmarinacircuit.com and the Abu Dhabi public transport operators for current routes, timetables and fares.
From the city
Yas Island is a short drive from central Abu Dhabi, and public buses serve the island. Buses don't take cash, so buy a Hafilat card in advance.
From Zayed International Airport (AUH)
The circuit is close to the airport and the Abu Dhabi–Dubai highway. Taxis are the simplest option. Tram Line 4, which will eventually link Yas with Al Raha and the airport, isn't due for several years.
Driving and getting around the island
Parking at the circuit is limited, so the usual approach is to park at Yas Mall or Yas Marina and take the free shuttle to the gates. Uber, Careem and taxis have dedicated drop-off zones. The free Yas Express shuttle serves the island, and extra shuttles have connected the main Yas stops and partner hotels to the circuit on race days. Check the official sites for 2026 times.
Where to stay
Yas Island has several hotels, and a number are within walking distance of the circuit. The most famous is the W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island, whose lit-up exterior is part of the circuit backdrop. On-island rooms sell out early for race week, so book as soon as you have tickets.
Staying in the city is cheaper, and you can drive or take the bus if you'd rather not pay for an island hotel. Residents can treat each day as a round trip and use the Yas Mall park-and-ride.
Watching from the water
Yas Marina sits inside the circuit, and its superyachts are part of the classic Abu Dhabi race view. If you're arriving by boat or want yacht hospitality, contact Yas Marina directly and do it early. Without a boat, the Marina Grandstand gives you the same backdrop from dry land.
Planning around the concerts
The Yasalam after-race concerts take place at Etihad Live, the venue formerly known as Etihad Park. The line-up so far:
- Wed 2 Dec: Andrea Bocelli at Etihad Arena. This needs a separate ticket.
- Thu 3 Dec: Lewis Capaldi and Zara Larsson.
- Fri 4 Dec: Alex Warren, plus a second headliner yet to be announced.
- Sat 5 Dec: Imagine Dragons.
- Sun 6 Dec: The Chainsmokers and The Script.
Standing is first-come, first-served, so if you want to be near the stage, buy the Golden Circle upgrade for that night. It adds front-of-stage access and fast-track entry. Otherwise, head over straight after the chequered flag rather than waiting for the crowds to clear. Pairing a North Grandstand seat with the concerts cuts down on walking. If you've booked a club or suite, check what time hospitality closes so you don't miss the first act.
Before you go
Prices, ticket availability, the concert line-up and shuttle arrangements can all change before December, so check before you go on abudhabigp.com and yasmarinacircuit.com. Pack sunglasses for the late-afternoon sun, a light layer for the evening and your Hafilat card if you're taking the bus.
