Whilst Abu Dhabi is not a major party capital, it is still one of the major tourist attractions in the Middle East. Like Dubai, it offers the most extravagant atmosphere with soaring skyscrapers and great entertainment, except without the masses of people that Dubai attracts.

The capital consists of many great nightclubs, pubs and bars so if you prefer a more chilled and less chaotic night out then Abu Dhabi will meet these requirements.

AMPM:

The AMP is a very famous bar in Abu Dhabi and is located at the Intercontinental hotel. Just a mile away from Marina hall, this English style bar is a great place to have a drink. The bar opens at 5 pm and closes around 2 am. The mouth-watering delicacies are accompanied by live music. This is probably the most happening place in Abu Dhabi, which is also very popular amongst the youth

Captain's Arms:

The bar is located in the famous Le Meridian Hotel, which also has a very popular nightclub called Al Birkeh. Situated in the vicinity of major tourist attractions of Abu Dhabi like Abu Dhabi Mall and Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation, Captain's Arms is famous for its service and atmosphere. It is also popular with expatriates who enjoy cheap drinks during happy hours.

Chequers:

Colosseum

This is one of Abu Dhabi’s hotspots, with a young multicultural crowd this is somewhere that you can listen and dance to all the latest hits which are played out by a regular DJ. It is a Roman style nightclub where ladies usually get in free and drinks are reasonably priced.

Havana Club

Located in the luxurious Emirates Palace, this bar/club offers the same standards of exclusiveness. This bar area is a lot livelier, as it is usually filled with a younger crowd, but at the edges of the venue there are comfortable leather armchairs where the older generation can unwind in, whilst enjoying a vintage brandy or even perhaps a fine Cuban cigar.

Jazz Bar

This place is more popular with the sophisticated drinkers who can afford to pay a little more for a classier atmosphere. The live band is one of the best in the city. The venue can get very busy and you cannot pre book tables so if you do not want to get disappointed arrive early.

L.A.B.

This venue has it all, whether you want to relax by the beach and take in the wonderful views listening to a combination of music, or dance immensely on a stylish spacious terrace, this is where it can be done. The atmosphere is laid back but the drink prices can be a little steep.

Rock Bottom Cafe

This is a popular venue which is open daily and closes at 2.30am. It is quite lively and entertaining so certainly attracts those who are looking for a place to party at around midnight. The bar switches its music to and from a live band and a DJ that keeps the crowd on the dance floor.

Sax Restaurant Club

This is a cosy place with its low-lit atmosphere. It is perhaps a good place to take a loved one, where you can enjoy a meal with live music entertainment. Later in the evening it becomes the Sax club which attracts a more upmarket clientele.

49er's

49er's is not only a great restaurant but in the evening it transforms into a decent bar. Situated in Al Diar Dana Hotel, this American themed bar is the only Wild West club in Abu Dhabi. The place gets usually full as soon as it opens. The club features a regular DJ and the dance floor gets crowded with youths.
